Important Information from our School Nurse

Dear Parent/Guardian,

It’s hard to believe that the summer break is over and school has begun.  To provide a safe and healthy environment for your child, I would like to inform you of some changes at our school this year:

1.  For safety reasons, students may not wear any flip-flops or flip-flop type shoes to school. Also no high-heeled shoes are allowed. Rubber soled shoes that cover the toes are recommended (such as tennis shoes/sneakers).

2.   It is not uncommon for children’s clothes to become soiled while at school due to bathroom accidents and spilling milk, juice, and/or water on their clothes.  Unfortunately, the school does not provide clothes for students.  Please make sure that your child always has an extra set of seasonal clothes at school.

3.   If a student requires any medication while at school, a specific form must be obtained from the school and filled out by a doctor.  This form must be filled out for all medications, including “over the counter” medications such as Tylenol, Advil, cough drops, etc.  Hand written notes from the student’s guardian are not accepted.

We appreciate your help in providing an optimal learning environment for your child at school.  If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank You,

Rachel Cain
